But I have sprayed a lot of soapy water to fix a lot of small leaks that when you combine them all they would be a big leak. My old trucks will hold enough for about 12 hours so when you return to start them they have enough air to take off and drive right away. How long does it hold air after you shut the truck off. Do you need some pictures to give me some help ? Is this something I could replace my self on a Cat 3406 A in a 1980 KW ? What exactly do I ask for when pricing/ordering a replacement pump ? Or is it called a compressor ? So I was just thinking the pump is getting tired, clearances are less when cold and less efficient, and it needs a rebuilt compressor. Not get it up to 60-70 degrees out side and I can get the air pressure up to 90 # in appox.

Speed up the motor to 1500-1700 until I can get 60 psi and get the brakes to release and start driving, this way I can get the rpm a bit higher and in with in 1 mile I can get the buzzer to quit and have about 70-80 psi. I let it run 10-15 min and might have 50 psi. Makes me think it is not so much an air line leak. Get a spray bottle with soapy water and go to work, I know.Ģ Could my air pump/compressor just be getting tired ? The colder it is the worse it is for getting the pressure up.
